10 year old driving a Hyundai Creta SUV is exactly what you don’t want your kids to do [Video]
Handling a vehicle needs maturity in various ways. While it is not very difficult to understand the working of a vehicle and operate a vehicle but one needs to be mature enough to handle such a big responsibility, especially on the public roads.
Sadly, there are many Indian parents who do not understand the same. Here is an underage child, which the video claims to be of 10 years old handling a Hyundai Creta on the public roads.
The video has been made in a music video format showing the kid driving around in a Creta with a friend or relative. The car in question is a Hyundai Creta, which is not a small car in any way.
The video shows the kid driving around in the town, going through narrow gaps, taking the vehicle in reverse and then parking it back in the garage. All of the video has been shot on the public roads.
It is quite commendable that the kid did extremely well with the vehicle and was confident on the road at such a small age but it is illegal and highly dangerous for the kid and for others on the road.
It seems like the kid has been driving and practising for a long time now and is pretty confident behind the wheels. However, according to the laws, driving on public roads without a driver’s license is illegal. Driver’s license is only available to the citizens who have crossed the legal age of 18 years in India.
What’s wrong with a kid driving a vehicle? Everything. First of all, he does not handle the vehicle as it is supposed to be. It is an automatic Creta and the kid using both his feet to control the brake and the accelerator pedals. This is extremely dangerous. Automatic cars should be driven only with the right foot and the left foot should be resting on the footrest.
This is to ensure that the driver does not confuse both the pedals and also people who learn driving on manual cars unknowingly put more pressure on the left foot because they operate the clutch pedal with it and it requires a lot of power.
The kid can also be seen holding the steering wheel with a steering spinner and is also using the same to move the vehicle on the turns. Again, it is a highly dangerous practice and steering spinners should not be used in any car. There are other things like no usage of the seatbelts by both the passengers and more.
In the past, many parents have been fined and even asked to be present in court for underage driving. Even insurance companies do not offer claims to anyone without a driving license, which is why one should avoid doing it completely. However, kids can drive in private tracks like racing circuits and there are many such young talents who are showing their driving skills around the racing tracks in India and around the world.
