With pilgrims’ rush to Sabarimala from Nellore region increasing during the Ayyappa deeksha season, transporters and the APSRTC are coming out with tour packages to make the most of the season.
The RTC has proposed to run two special services especially for Ayyappa pilgrims this year. Ever since the packaging of this tour with additional stoppages at well-known temples en route, there has been higher demand for it from the pilgrims. The special buses will be run from November 16 to January 11 depending on the rush.
Special services
The special services will offer pilgrims the advantage of visiting Kanipakam temple, Sripuram, Erumeli, Kurtalam, Madhurai and Chennai en route to Sabarimala.
Moreover, they are offering free travel for one person, if a group of 15 people book the tickets a single day.
For the easy accessibility for the pilgrims, the RTC officials have fixed the ticket process at Rs. 3,300 per pilgrim for super luxury service. For the other services, the rates are Rs. 2,900 (for deluxe), Rs. 2,500 (for express) and Rs. 2,000 (for Telugu Velugu buses).
Besides this, the RTC is also offering contract services to those who are on ‘mandala deeksha’.
At special rates, they can hire buses on contract and visit pilgrim centres of their choice and during the Sabar imala tour.
Free travel will be given to two cooks, two ‘Manikanta swamis’ and one luggage boy.
