It’s official.Putting all rumors to rest, the APSRTC has finally decided to set up a super specialty hospital on its 3-acre site at Vidyadharapuram in Vijayawada.
Announcing this here on Wednesday , RTC officials said foundation stone would be laid for the hospital on March 10. The state-owned transport corporation will build the hospital with its own funds collected from its employees at the rate of Rs 100 per month.
When Times of India reporters contacted APSRTC MD and vice-chairman N Sambasiva Rao, he said the hospital will come up in an area of 30,000 sq.feet on a 3-acre site owned by the corporation. The project is aimed to be completed by June this year.
“Our plans to construct the hospital in BOT mode did not come through for various reasons. At present, APSRTC has enough funds for construction of the hospital. Tenders are yet to be finalized,” Rao said.
The MD also said the corporate office (RTC House) would be inaugurated by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on May 15. The corporate house was built in an area of 50,000 sft to provide shelter to all APSRTC camp office employees.”The RTC House is the first of its kind,” he added.
