Commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland has introduced a nine seater luxury coach called the Luxury Magical in association with India automobile design house DC.
The platform of the luxury bus has been provided by Ashok Leyland while DC has deigned the interiors for a luxury atmosphere. The interiors of the Luxura Magical India bus can seat nine people and is equipped with two LCD televisions, a stereo, reading lights, power sockets, a kitchen with a coffee machine and microwave, a bathroom and even an on-board spa area for two individuals with trained therapists.
The Ashok Leyland Luxura Magical India bus is powered by a 228PS diesel engine that drives the rear wheels of the coach. The bus features air suspension for a comfortable ride to deliver that luxury experience.
The bus can be chartered from Mann Travels, New Delhi for a day or for an overnight trip to destinations such as Agra, Jaipur, Neemrana and other places around Delhi. It has been announced that 50 per cent of the charter fees will be donated to NGOs like Goong and The Cancer Institute (WIA) Chennai.
The price of the bus has not been disclosed as this is a one-off vehicle. The charter rates have been pegged at Rs 30,000 for an 8 hour/80 km hire. For every kilometre after 80 kms have been covered, customers will be charged Rs 150 per kilometre and Rs 3,000 will be charged for every hour after the 8 hour charter time is exceeded. Mann Travels has also setup a charter for a day trip to Agra which is available on the Ashok Leyland Luxura Magical India bus for a sum of Rs 65,000.
“Ashok Leyland is delighted to be a part of this project with its core values of innovation, focus on the customer front and delivery with a social conscience,” said Vinod Dasari, Managing Director, Ashok Leyland.
Based on customer response and the number of charters secured by Mann Travels, Ashok Leyland and DC will take a call on producing more Luxura Magical India buses in the future.
