Bengaluru Police damages KSRTC bus glass pane, video goes viral
An act of high-handedness by an angry Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of breaking the window pane of a KSRTC bus has gone viral on social media. The erring ASI has been identified as Giriyappa, attached to Madiwala traffic police station.
The incident took place at around 11 am on Tuesday when the driver drove KSRTC bus onto a flyover, where their entry is prohibited.
The ASI got furious that despite flagging the erring vehicle, the driver did not stop immediately. He took a helmet and broke the glass pane on the driver’s seat.
The entire act was recorded by the driver on his mobile phone and it has gone viral. Though no complaint has been filed in this regard, DCP traffic (East) Jagadeesh has reportedly warned the ASI.
The bus, attached to Channapatna depot, was coming from Hosur and heading towards Kalasipalya. As there was a traffic jam in Madiwala underpass, the bus driver chose to use the flyover, following some BMTC buses.
ASI Giriyappa immediately flagged the bus, but the driver reportedly told him that there were vehicles behind and he would stop a little ahead. Angry over his conduct, the ASI picked up a fight with the driver and later broke the glass.
The driver of the bus claimed he was new to the route and was not aware that KSRTC buses were allowed to use the flyover. He had even pleaded with the ASI to fine him, instead of damaging the vehicle. The ASI then told the driver to file a police complaint.
