Kashedi Ghat is a mountain pass in India located on the Mumbai–Goa–Kochi national highway. This ghat is near Poladpur, on the Mahad to Khed section. It has a deadly curve, which makes it one of the difficult ghats in Maharastra.
Those driving to Goa from Mumbai might come across Kashedi Ghat, a stretch on the highway that one must avoid if possible, especially during the night. People say that the ghost of a mysterious person tries to stop vehicles passing this stretch, and when someone refuses to do so, the car meets with a major accident. Creepy, isn’t it?

The stunning Kashedi Ghat with deadly curve is situated near Poladpur in the Raigad district on NH 17, The national highway on the banks of the river Savitri. The deadly turns makes it one of the most dangerous mountain ghat of Maharashtra. Other mountain ghats are Nane Ghat, Shendurjana Ghat and Mahur Ghats. Western Ghats have so many other majestic mountain passes throughout its states such as wayanad Ghats.
The travel time to navigate Kashedi Ghat will be reduced from 40 minutes to 10 minutes as there are plans to construct two tunnels with three lanes each. This Kashedi Ghat is located on the Mumbai-Goa highway near Poladpur. The construction of the tunnel is set to begin the by May and will be undertaken by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI).
The ghat is prone to accident due to its zig zac routes. “We have identified several accident spots within the 34 kilometre long ghat. Once the tunnels along with the lanes are ready, commuters will have the benefit on travelling on wide roads and the roads will be straight without steep turns.
