The hartal called by certain fringe organisations with the moral support of Opposition parties had turned violent in certain places; public properties were destroyed or damaged at some places.
Arsonists had also blocked or stoned buses and other vehicles at several places. Now, what is going viral on social media is the video of a verbal duel between hartal supporters who blocked a bus at Vadakara and the bus staff.
The incident happened on Tuesday at 11 am. The bus was going from Nadapuram to Vadakara. The hartal miscreants can be seen threatening the bus driver to discontinue the service. But the bus staff dauntingly challenge the miscreants to attack them, when the police arrive at the spot.

Soon, the police turn away hartal supporters and make way for the bus to continue the service. The bus employees had taken the video of miscreants while they were trying to block their bus.
Once the video turned viral on social media, Edassery police filed a case against ten persons. Police said the accused would be arrested soon. By now, police have taken more than 100 people into custody. In Malappuram, hartal miscreants blocked vehicles. Here private buses did not ply usual routes. KSRTC buses faced stone-pelting in Munnar and Aluva.
Widespread incidents of stone pelting on state-run KSRTC buses was reported across the state, especially in the districts of Kollam, Palakkad, Ernakulam, Wayanad, Kozhiode and Kannur. School and University examinations scheduled for Tuesday have not been postponed, but students of the College of Engineering in Thiruvananthapuram protested and boycotted examinations as many could not reach the college on time.
