Fliers to the city and those proceeding to Nedumbas-sery airport need not pay hefty charges any more to taxis to reach their destination as KSRTC is all set to deploy AC low floor bus-service from the airport every half-an hour.
The decision follows after a complaint by airport officials that there is a gap in the services of AC buses connecting to Kochi city, a good 40-km distance, especially during peak flight hours.
Presently, there is no bus between 10 am and 11.10 am, and between 2.05 pm to 3.55 pm when several domestic flights arrive and depart, officials said.
With the addition of two AC buses, corporation decided to deploy one on Fort Kochi-airport route and the other on Mattan-cherry-Perumbavoor route.
While the AC bus charges `75 from the airport to Fort Kochi, a taxi ride costs around Rs 1,000.
