Tourism department, in association with Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), is planning to offer open top double decker buses to tourists for the city tour.
Tourism officials said that Bengaluru had such an open-top bus service for tourists to view the city, run by Bangalore Metro Transport Corporation. On the same concept, similar buses will be introduced in Mysuru to cover the hot spots. The buses may be procured from Bengaluru.
Officials added that open top double decker buses were introduced during Dasara festivities eight years ago.
The buses covering 16 km around the city tourist spots like Mysuru palace, Jaganmohan palace, Mysore Zoo, Karanji Lake, Regional Museum of Natural History, Lalitha Mahal Palace, Railway Museum and Mysuru City Railway station.
Tourists, wishing to avail the facility, can purchase a day pass, which offers the tourists the flexibility of using the day pass at any place and spend as much time as they want at each destination.
