The victims – Sojith, 27, his mother Ashalatha, 62, and a friend, on their way to Manipal, were attacked by a gang on Sunday after alleging the car in which they were travelling didn’t allow a private bus to overtake it. Ashalatha’s leg was broken in the attack.
The complainant said a gang attacked them and snatched a five-sovereign gold chain after blocking their car at Chudala. The arrested include the bus manager and employees.
The cops said the issue started when the bus was stuck in a traffic block behind the victims car at Dharmasala. The gang first tried to block the car near Taliparamba but failed. Later they blocked the victims’ vehicle at Chudala using an Innova car and attacked them.
Police seized the car used by the gang. Officers said more people were involved in the attack and they would be arrested soon.
