The District Collector has directed the officials at the border check-posts and the District Police Chief to take precautionary measures as some Tamil Nadu organisations have called a hartal at Gudallur in Theni district from 8 a.m. on Sunday, demanding maintenance of the Mullaperiyar water level at 142 ft. They have announced that Kerala registration vehicles including the KSRTC will be blocked on the day. The Collector has asked travellers also to take precautionary measures.
