Honda Activa 5G ‘limited edition’ automatic scooter reaches dealerships: Price announced
Honda will soon launch the all-new Activa in the Indian market. But before that, Honda will launch a limited edition model based on the Honda Activa 5G in the Indian market. The Activa is India’s largest selling scooter by a huge margin and the limited edition model will further push the sales on the scooter in the market.
The limited edition Activa 5G will be based on both STD and DLX variants of the Honda Activa in the market. The limited-edition scooters will get the special dual-tone colour scheme. There will be a silver and black theme and a pearl white and gold theme available with the limited scooter. Honda is yet to announce the specifications and the launch of the new limited edition scooter officially in the market yet. However, the scooters have started reaching the Honda dealerships across the country.
The price of the limited edition Activa will not be much different from the regular variants. People who want the limited edition Honda Activa will have to pay Rs 400 extra over the price of the regular version of the scooter. This makes the price of the limited edition Honda Activa STD priced at Rs 55,032 while the limited-edition DLX version costs Rs 56,897, ex-showroom Delhi.
The Honda dealerships have also started accepting the bookings for the limited-edition scooters. The deliveries and the formal launch announcement is expected to happen sometime in the next week. The dual-tone colour option also adds highlights and special edition decals to the side apron, front fender and engine cover of the scooter.
The headlamp cowl, front apron and the grab rail get the highlights that make the limited edition Activa look different from the regular version. The scooter also gets the engine and the alloy wheels painted in an all-black colour. It sure looks quite sporty. Honda has not mentioned the number of limited edition scooters that will be made available in the market but it is expected to be quite a lot.
Honda will also launch the CB Shine 125 in two new colours in the market – Black with Metallic Red and Silver Metallic. The CB Shine will also get new graphics and decals on the sides, fuel tank and a contrasting grab rail.
Mechanically, both Activa and CB Shine 125 will remain unchanged. Honda offers the tried and tested 110cc, single-cylinder engine with the Activa that generates a maximum power of 8 Bhp and peak torque of 9 Nm. The Honda Shine 125 gets a single-cylinder air-cooled engine that generates a maximum of 10.16 Bhp and peak torque of 10.3 Nm.
Honda will soon launch the BS-VI version of the Honda Activa in the market and it is expected to get the Honda Activa 6G moniker. The new emission norms will be implemented in the market next year but Honda may launch the new model much before that.
