Keeping in view the huge rush during the Independence Day weekend, the Kerala RTC will open booking for its special trips from Bengaluru this week itself.
The corporation which is usually late in announcing special services during festival seasons plans to overtake the Karnataka RTC and private bus services by announcing specials and opening booking a month in advance. CK Babu, KSRTC controlling inspector Bengaluru said that the special buses scheduled for 11 August would be announced soon.
There would be 16 extra services including the weekend services. Tickets for most of the usual KSRTC services from Bengaluru during the Independence day holiday is already sold out, while the Karnataka RTC and many private bus services have not even opened reservation facilities. Tickets for these buses would be made available from next week onwards.
