New Delhi: Budget carrier IndiGo said Monday it will launch services to Sharjah from Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram, besides introducing a flight to Muscat from Kozhikode by March and April.
With this launch, the number of daily flights offered by IndiGo will reach 857, connecting 43 destinations with a fleet of 126 Airbus aircraft, a release said.
The new schedule sees introduction of daily non-stop flights between Sharjah-Kozhikode, Muscat-Kozhikode both from March 20 and a Sharjah-Thiruvananthapuram service from April 8.
The introduction of the new flights would further consolidate airline’s position in the Middle-East market, IndiGo claimed.
“We are extremely pleased to expand our international network with Sharjah and an additional connection between Muscat and Kozhikode,” Aditya Ghosh, President and Whole Time Director, IndiGo, was quoted as saying in a statement.
“Middle East has been an important market for IndiGo and expanding operations to Sharjah and Muscat is a testament to the growing demand from the sector.”
