Jet Airways aircraft wing hit truck parked at Delhi airport, major accident averted

A major accident was averted at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International airport on Sunday when the wing of a Jet Airways aircraft hit a catering vehicle. A Taj Sats catering vehicle was already parked near Bay 20 of the Indira Gandhi Airport, where the Jet Airways aircraft was to be parked.

As the aircraft was on its way to Bay 20, the parking bay for the aircraft it hit a food truck parked on the way. No injuries have been reported.

The incident took place around 7:53 PM on Sunday evening when the Jet Airways aircraft arriving from Dubai was making its way to the parking. The aircraft was carrying 133 passengers.

A similar incident was reported last year when an Air India aircraft hit a ground cooling unit truck while going towards the parking bay. No injuries were reported in the incident.

In September 2017, a similar incident had occurred when an Air India plane hit a ground cooling unit truck while taxiing towards a parking bay. The flight had 114 passengers on-board. No injuries were reported during that incident too.
