With a day remaining for the ball to roll for the ISL finals between Kerala Blasters and Athletico de Kolkata on Sunday, the vehicle used by the Kerala Blasters team was seized by the Motor Vehicles Department.
The official vehicle namely a Volvo Tourist Bus, used by the team owned by Sachin Tendulkar was seized the other day at Edapally for illegal advertising.
The bus, covered fully in yellow is also sporting the pictures of players and team co-owner Sachin Tendulkar and the sponsors’ logos with their name. The Volvo vehicle is used for picking up and dropping the players from the stadium to Hotel and vice versa.
“As per the rules, if the owner wants to change the colour of the vehicle, he should submit a request letter to the department and a fee has to be remitted at the RTO office. However, the owner of this luxury bus has not paid any amount for altering the vehicle,” said P B Shafeek, Motor Vehicle Inspector, Ernakulam.
The MVD has seized a similar vehicle a few months back too.
