Kerala gets its 2nd Lamborghini Huracan: Actor Prithviraj owns the first one
Kerala is known for its backwaters, long coastline, lip smacking food, culture and people’s taste for good cars. Today we have one such story of a man from gods own country who like many others dreamt of owning a Lamborghini supercar and has finally turned it into a reality.
The car in question is the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 and it is owned by business man Cyril Philip from Kerala’s Kottayam, Kuramaranalloor. He bought it second hand from Bengaluru and will soon be registering it in Kerala. When registered, it will be the second Lamborghini to getting a ‘KL’ number plate.
The First Lamborghini Huracan was registered by established Malayalam actor, director Prithviraj. He is known to be a keen car enthusiast and he owns a Huracan LP 580-2 model. He was recently in the news for spending a whopping Rs 7 lakh for a fancy registration for his Lamborghini.
The model owned by Cyril Philip from Kottayam is the latest LP 610-4 variant. Lamborghini offers Huracan in two variants, a rear wheel drive and an all-wheel drive. The Huracan owned by Mr. Philip has an all-wheel drive system. It even has a provision to raise the height of the suspension by 45 mm at the touch of a button which will come handy while driving over the broken roads and over the speed breakers on Indian roads.
The Lime green colour of the Huracan looks very cool on it. Body of the Huracan is made from a combination of Carbon fibre and Aluminium. This makes the Huracan very light and agile. It can do 0-100 in just under 3 seconds. The Lamborghini Huracan is powered by a 5.2 liter naturally aspirated V10 engine that produces a maximum power of 602 Bhp and a 560 Nm of peak torque. It even has three different drive modes. The modes are namely ‘Strada’, ‘Sport’ and Corsa. A seven speed automatic gearbox handles torque transfer to all four wheels of the car by means of an all wheel drive system.
The Lamborghini Huracan is a replacement to the supercar brand’s best seller – the Gallardo. Like the Huracan, the Gallardo has been doing great numbers for the Italian brand. It’s the least priced supercar on sale from Lamborghini, and when bought new, prices start from Rs. 2.91 crores. Coming back to Mr. Cyril Philip, he will register the Huracan under Kottayam RTO and will be paying Rs 80 lakh as taxes.
Cyril’s garage has other luxury cars such as Benz and BMW. Though several people in Kerala have Lamborghinis, it is rare to get the car registered here. Cyril’s car was registered at Kottayam RTO and he paid Rs 80 lakh as tax. Cyril and his son Suraj’s love for car is supported by wife Solly and daughters Shruthi and Shreya.
