The Pampa KSRTC bus station will start nine more inter-state schedules to Tamil Nadu daily with effect from Friday, taking into account the heavy flow of pilgrims during the peak days of the Makaravilakku season.
Pampa KSRTC special officer Manoj told that of the additional inter-state schedules, three would be to Madurai, three to Theni and the rest to Thenkasi in addition to the existing five schedules.
Chain Service Manoj said an aggregate number of 24,213 Pampa-Nilackal chain service trips were operated till January 7 as against 23,490 schedules during the corresponding period last pilgrimage season. The Nilackal chain service revenue recorded an all-time high of Rs6.53 crore during the period as against Rs4.83 crore last season, showing an increase of Rs1.70 crore, Manoj said.
Long-route Schedules
The KSRTC operated a total number of 15,876 long-route schedules from Pampa during the period under review as against 15,849 schedules during the same period last season.
