The Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) has taken action against a youth for blocking the way of a KSRTC bus with his bike. Kannan was booked for dangerously riding the bike.
“His licence was seized and MVD mulls to cancel his licence,” said RTO Mahesh.
Sakthikulangara police seized his two-wheeler in connection with the case. MVD noticed the dangerous act of the youngster after a video went viral on social media.
A passenger in the KSRTC bus recorded the video on his phone. In the video, Kannan was seen riding the bike along with a friend.
The incident took place on Wednesday at 1.30 pm. He deliberately blocked the KSRTC superfast bus which was on the way to Thiruvananthapuram from Malappuram depot.
After overtaking the bus from the left side, the youth continued to block the bus from Neendakara bridge to traffic signal at Altharamoodu junction. When the bike was stopped at the signal, he used abusive words against the bus driver.
The youth created trouble alleging that the KSRTC bus driver did not give way to them at Neendakara bridge. After noticing a passenger recording the visuals, the duo decided to stop the stunt and decided to withdraw.
But they hurled abuses at bus driver and conductor when they crossed the bus at Kavanad junction. Though the bus driver reported the incident at Kollam depot, a complaint was not filed. But the MVD took action against the youth when the video went viral.
Kollam RTO Enforcement informed that further action will be taken against the youth.
