Marayur: Kichu, one of the members of Marayur Dog Squad, has become the star of the day when he helped the forest personnel to recover the logs of the lost sandalwood tree.
On Friday, the forest rangers found that a sandalwood tree has been smuggled out of the forest. They recovered some of the logs from Peradipallam on Sunday but was unable to locate three of the logs.

It was then they sought the help of Kichu who sensed the smell from the seized logs and searched for the remaining ones. With much dexterity, Kichu found the hideout of the smugglers at Vettaikkaran Kovil.
Though the thieves fled the scene when they saw the forest personnel, the officials were able to seize the sandalwood logs.
