The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has made elaborate arrangements to operate services from 10 major bus stations to Pampa and Erumely during the pilgrim season.
The KSRTC will put into service around 400 buses in phases. Already, around 120 buses have been pressed into service, the bulk of it being deployed at the Kottayam, Chengannur and Pathanamthitta depots. In addition to deployment at Thiruvananthapuram, Kottarakara, Adoor, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Guruvayur and Kumali, buses will be operated from Palani, Thenkasi, Coimbatore and Bengaluru.
Apart from the existing online reservation centres of the utility, the facility will be provided at Thiruvananthapuram Central, Kottarakara, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur, Munnar, Malappuram, Sulthan Bathery, Kasaragod, Guruvayur and Pampa. Return tickets can be booked at Thiruvananthapuram Central and Ernakulam.
Necessary instruction has been issued to collect devotees within 10 km radius of the bus station if around 40 pilgrims book tickets in bulk. A temporary bus station has been set up at Nilackal. Mobile workshops have been stationed at Nilackal, Plappally, and Perinad to attend to mechanical break-downs.
