Frequent complaints of drivers of Kerala State Road Transport Corporation buses skipping services at Vyttila mobility hub appear to be common these days.
According to official sources, a few long-distance KSRTC buses from Thiruvananthapuram are skipping the hub quite often. Recently, an official letter was sent to the KSRTC Ernakulam Zonal Officer Sebastian Thomas to take immediate action to monitor whether all the buses are arriving at the hub.
“Following an earlier complaint, the KSRTC officials had sent one of their staff to ensure that the buses are not skipping services at the hub. However, the complaints from commuters have cropped up again and we have noticed that the staff on duty has not been arriving for quite some days now,” an official at the hub said.
Meanwhile, there are complaints from passengers that the KSRTC staff at the information counter of the hub do not give proper information regarding the arrival and departure of the buses during the night hours. “The commuters have to wait till late in the night and are forced to take pre-paid autorickshaws to their destinations,” said Jibison, an auto driver at the hub. However, station master P S Salil has denied the charges.
