KSRTC Launched Chain Services Between Muvattupuzha and Kaloor
KSRTC has launched a chain service from its Muvattupuzha depot linking Pattimattam, Kizhakambalam and Kakkanad with Kaloor.
Buses in the chain service will operate every 15 minutes ( am to 7 pm) bringing relief to hundreds of passengers who had to suffer hardships in the absence of proper connectivity.
KSRTC has pledged 16 limited stop ordinary buses to run the service.
The route is a revenue-earner for KSRTC and currently there are 40 trips every day. The number of trips have gone up to 56 with the launch of the chain service.
Muvattupuzha is a prominent old town in the midlands directly to the east of Kochi. It is situated at around 40 km from downtown Kochi. The town is a growing urban centre in central Kerala and also an aspiring new district headquarter. Muvattupuzha KSRTC depot is located on MC Road towards south of the town.
KSRTC operates few long distance services and mostly caters to the Ernakulam to Thodupuzha route. Private bus services are available to major towns in the Ernakulam district as well as Kottayam and Idukki districts. Frequent buses are available to neighbouring towns like Ernakulam, Kakkanad, Aluva, Wellington Island, Kothamangalam, Piravom, Koothattukulam, Perumbavoor, Pattimattom and Thodupuzha.
Kaloor is a downtown region in the city of Kochi, in the state of Kerala, India. It is just 2 km from the Ernakulam North Railway Station. Kaloor Junction is also the name of a major intersection in this part of the city, intersecting the two major arteries of downtown Kochi, namely Banerji Road and the Kaloor-Kadavanthra Road.
The nearest major intersections are Palarivattom to the east and Lissie Junction to the west. The Ernakulam South Junction, Ernakulam North Town Railway Station and the state run KSRTC bus stand are also at reachable distance. The Kochi Metro has a station located at Kaloor Junction, making it easily accessible from both Aluva and Tripunithura sides of the city.
