The much-awaited ‘Minnal’ service of Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will have a fleet of new buses, flaunting a new look. Manufactured at KSRTC central works depot, Pappanamcode, the long-distance limited stop super-deluxe buses will hit the roads to soon.
The buses of white and red colour have the ‘lightning’ motif painted on its either sides, signifying the name of the fleet. Initially it was planned to give a dark blue shade for the buses.
The services will be started from next week (June End week).

“These are long distance buses and some are operated during night hours. Considering the visibility during the night hours, we opted for white and red,” said KSRTC chairman and managing director M G Rajamanickam.
The 41-seater super-deluxe buses feature 2×2 reclining seats and rear air suspension. Though the service is faster than super class services of KSRTC, passengers have to pay the same fare as other services.
The fleet will start its service after the inauguration, which will be organized as per the availability of transport minister Thomas Chandy.
