KSRTC records Rs 10.29 crore profit
The Karnataka State Road Transport (KSRTC), which suffered losses previous year, has made a turnaround and recorded a profit of `10.29 crore.
KSRTC Managing Director S.R. Umashankar told the media on Friday, “We had incurred losses of up to Rs 138 crore the previous year. But from February 2017 to till date, we have made a profit of `10.29 crore, despite a hike in diesel prices and the cost of staff. It is a big achievement to register profits after suffering a loss. It is the sheer hard work of every employee working for the KSRTC.”
He also said that they have entrusted the maintenance of bus stations, urinals and toilets in the jurisdiction of Bangalore Central, Ramanagar and Mandya divisions to Sulabh International, an NGO, to provide better facilities to the travelling public.
“We have implemented various other projects and schemes for the welfare of both the passengers and employees of KSRTC,” he added.
