KTM 390 Duke beats Yamaha FZ25 to Win Indian Motorcycle Of The Year Award 2018

The Indian Motorcycle of the Year Award has been bagged by the KTM 390 Duke. This is one of the most coveted and credible award in the motorcycle segment for motorcycles in India. The KTM 390 Duke beat the Triumph Street Triple RS and Yamaha FZ25 to clinch the award for the bike of the year.

The 2018 edition of the IMOTY (Indian Motorcycle of the Year Award) marks the tenth year in existence for the prestigious and coveted award in the automobile industry. The award is remarkable not just for the Indian two-wheeler industry but for also for the IMOTY jury.

An award which is synonymous to brilliance in the Indian automobile industry, has been honouring bikes for over a decade now. The prestigious IMOTY award recognizes the best in class efforts by the automobile giants.

Specifications of the KTM 390 Duke 

KTM 390 Duke, looks aggressive and futuristic. At the front, the bike gets full LEDs and the 13.5-litre fuel tank. The fuel tank gets sharp extensions that add to the look of the bike.

The 2017 KTM 390 Duke comes with a single cylinder 373cc engine that comes mated to a six-speed transmission. The bike gets a slipper clutch as well for a smooth drive. The fuel injected, liquid-cooled motor produces 43 hp.

The bike comes loaded with a fully coloured 5-inch TFT instrument cluster. What adds to the feature of the 2017 KTM 390 Duke is that this cluster also supports smartphone connectivity. The bike is equipped with Dual disc brakes with ABS that comes as a standard fitment.

As per the report, three bikes made it to the top three positions in the Indian Motorcycle Of The Year Award 2018 after the final round of assessments. The other two contenders in the list were the Yamaha FZ25 and the Triumph Street Triple RS but the the KTM 390 Duke was voted winner of the prestegious award.
