New colour code for private buses in state soon !!
Private buses in Kerala will have a uniform colour codes soon. The State Transport Authority (STA) under the Regional Transport Commissioner has decided to bring a uniform colour and appearance for all private buses.

Limited Stop Buses
City buses, mofussil ordinary buses and limited stop ordinary buses will have green, blue and maroon colours respectively. Three lines in off-white colour will be painted at the bottom part of the bus body.
The colour code will come into force in February. The change to new colour code will be completed by February 2019. New buses which are in line for registration and fitness test must change colour as per the rule.
The meeting convened by the STA has also decided to reschedule the bus timings after considering the report of the Motor Vehicle Department. An expert committee of the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) has recommended complete overhaul of bus timings across the state by taking into consideration the frequent traffic blocks and poor condition of the roads. The committee has submitted a report regarding this.
The officials have decided that the bus timings will be changed to control the competition between buses.
Transport Secretary KR Jyothilal, Commissioner Anil Kanth, STA member Aalikoya and Secretary Rajeev Puthalalthu attended the meeting.
