Thrissur: With the traffic bottleneck at Paliyekkara toll plaza becoming a perennial problem, the authorities have decided to introduce new traffic reforms to solve the issue.
After the AIYF activists conducted a blockade at the toll plaza over the issue on Sunday, authorities led by the ADM reached the spot and ensured the agitators that reforms will be implemented to control the traffic at the place.
The contract made with the toll company was that the toll gate will be opened if there are five vehicles in one track. However, the contract company was not ready to follow this rule. This often resulted in agitations and blockades.
The ADM informed the agitators that it will be ensured that the contract made with the toll company is followed by the company. Minister for Public Works G Sudhakaran will hold discussions with the company authorities and representatives of political parties on May 17. The new traffic reforms will be implemented after this.
