The government is planning the uniformity in colour for the private buses (officially termed as stage carriage buses) for their easy identification by commuters. One colour would separate them from other buses such as interstate carriage buses and buses of private factories.

The officials asked the valuable opinions from Private bus operators regarding the colour change.

“If the same is approved, we will adhere to the time schedule of changing the colour of the buses by the time period. Thereafter we will not renew the fitness certificate if the bus owner have not changed it” said Officials.

The change of colour will not cause any additional expenditure as mot bus operators will provide a fresh coat of colour to all vehicles in every year.

When told that many private buses do not follow the rules like issuing of tickets and wearing of uniforms by conductors.
