The Minister said the students at the school and the college level should be made aware of the harmful effects of liquor and drugs.

Those who were carriers of drugs were generally unaware of the international criminal links involved in the racket.

People should imbibe the spirit of life without liquor and drugs, he said.

The meeting was presided over by Alappuzha Municipal chairman Thomas Joseph.

Assistant Excise Commissioner K. Chandrapalan, District Transport Officer G. Balamurali, Conuctor Shefeek Ibrahim and others spoke.

The rally was taken out from the KSRTC bus stand to the Excise complex. A ‘journey against drugs’ was organised by KSRTC from Alappuzha to Ambalappuzha.
