Kochi Metro Rail Ltd. is organizing ‘Theruvolsavam’ on May 1 and the roadside will brim with activities like never before. Theruvolsavam is the local term given for Happy Street- Raahgiri Day. The traffic will be regulated in Shanmugham Road from High Court Junction to Taj Gateway Hotel between 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM and is going to stage various activities. Theruvolsavam will help to educate the common man on the importance of public transport and the necessity to curb air pollution. Lets get together and make this Theruvolsavam a grand success.
The concept of `Happy Streets’ is that on Sunday mornings, a major road in town is temporarily closed to traffic and given back to pedestrians, cyclists and other Non-Motorised Transport (NMT) users. It is a great opportunity for people to `reclaim the streets’ for peaceful and festive uses. The reclaimed public space is used for open-air activities such as sports and cultural activities.
KSRTC Blog and Reachon – FastBuz courier service will participate in the event.
