Telangana transport mnister P. Mahender Reddy on Monday flagged off two Scania Metrolink premium luxury buses from the MGBS Bus Station. Procured by the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) the buses will operate between Hyderabad and Bengaluru from June 28 2016.


This marks Scania’s first successful commercial association with TSRTC. Scania will also provide TSRTC with aftermarket services and 24×7 service assistance.

“It is our honour to foray into Telangana with the support of TSRTC, offering sustainable, safe and comfortable travel experience to passengers,” said Mikael Benje, Managing Director, Scania India. “This service will prove to be a boon for regular commuters between Hyderabad and Bengaluru. Our ultra-luxury Metrolink buses will complement TSRTC’s efforts to deliver luxury travel to passengers. It is a significant milestone for us and we look forward to an extended relationship with TSRTC in the years to come.”

TSRTC said, “At TSRTC our constant endeavor is to provide our customers with the very best in terms of comfortable and safe travel. The launch of the Scania Metrolink buses are a reiteration of our commitment to our customers. We hope to launch many more buses and customer friendly services in the months to come.”

Scania Metrolink range, launched in February 2001 are luxury premium buses specially designed for inter-city journeys.

Currently Scania Metrolink buses are operating in the states of Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan by respective state transport corporations and private fleet operators.
