Even after two weeks since the Vigilance Department seized spare parts worth lakhs that were intended to be sold outside the state at the Papanamkod central work shop, no action has been taken against the accused.
Manorama News in its investigation had discovered that spare parts were sold at scrap to obtain commission. Following this news, the Vigilance Department conducted a raid finding two stores with spare parts worth lakhs of money.
These spare parts were hidden in boxes among old paper and other trash so that it wouldn’t raise any suspicion. Around 48 and 63 spare parts were discovered in the raid from stores numbered 7 and 9 respectively.
It is said that the accused had forged documents which said that these spare parts were bought through a tender, and false documentation were used to be made to procure it all over again. It was brought into light that it was a plotting between the store managers and the employees there.
The Vigilance Department conducted the raids at the workshop in front of KSRTC Executive Director Sreekumar and Managing Director Sukumaran.
