The KSRTC management has warned of strict action against employees who speak ill of the corporation, officers, ministers and even trade union leaders in media interviews.

In a circular dated July 4, KSRTC CMD  M G Rajamanickam said if a KSRTC employee is found to be directly or indirectly responsible for denting the corporation’s image, he/she will face action.

The circular warned of punitive action against such employees for violating the service rules.

However, employees found it strange the circular was mum on those owing allegiance to trade unions.

“There are several officers resorting to blatant violation of rules with the support of trade unions. Employees take to the social media to vent their frustration when their complaints remain unaddressed,” said a KSRTC employee.

According to him, a controlling inspector at Vithura depot here attended a union meeting while on duty. The news was immediately circulated on social media much to the chagrin of union leaders, he said.

Mass leave
The employees owing allegiance to CITU-affiliated Kerala State Road Transport Employees’ Association (KSRTEA) at the KSRTC headquarters here went on leave en masse on Friday to attend the CITU unit meet. Of the 358 employees,152 proceeded on leave to attend the meeting. The ‘no-show’ was in open violation of the CMD’s order against mass leave to attend union meetings.
