The Thrissur Railway Passengers’ Association has urged the railways to provide more stops for the new trainfrom Punalur to Palakkad.
Welcoming the launch of the new train, association general secretary P Krishankumarsaid it would be useful for office employees who commute daily between towns like Palakkad and Thrissur and the southern districts.
The association has appealed to the railways to provide stops for the train at Wadakkanchery, Punkunnam, Irinjalakkuda, Chalakkudy and Angamaly.
Southern Railway has decided to introduce the new train between Punalur and Palakkad considering the demand of passengers. It will be inaugurated by Union minister for railways Suresh Prabhu at 2.30 pm on April 19 and begin operations on April 20.
