Theme Song for KSRTC; Here the music is ready…
The KSRTC, which is on a revival path, is set to get a new theme song, thanks to its chairman and managing director Tomin J. Thachankary who himself has composed the music. “I’ve composed the music but the lyrics are being penned by the conductors and drivers in the corporation. The song will be sung by talented musicians among us. The aim is to motivate the staff and inculcate a feeling that all of us are part of the same family,” Mr Thachankary told Deccan Chronicle.
He also plans to shoot a music video of the theme song with the characters being the popular buses of the KSRTC, including ‘Chank bus,’ besides the staff and its offices. “We’ll shoot the scenes on mobile phones so as to save money. The music video will have clippings of our buses featured in Malayalam films right from ‘Kannur Deluxe,’” he said.

The target is to roll out the theme song in a month. It will be made ring tones and caller tones on the mobile phones of all KSRTC employees and also phones at its offices. The other initiatives to motivate the staff, who find themselves facing salary issues and tough job conditions, include revival of the KSRTC football and volleyball teams.
