The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) has taken initiative to create awareness among its crew on checking accidents.
A team of officials of the Omalur TNSTC depot on Monday created awareness among the bus crew at the toll plaza on the Salem – Bengaluru national highway near Omalur.
Pamphlets
The officials distributed pamphlets containing slogans on safety aspects to the crew of mofussil, town and mini-buses proceeding on this road.
The pamphlets explained the importance of strictly adhering to road rules, and avoiding mobile phones while driving.
Despite strict vigil, people still prefer footboard travelling in the buses, unmindful of the dangers involved in it. The pamphlet called upon both the drivers and conductors not to allow footboard travelling at any cost.
The conductors on the night duty should not sleep and should continue to encourage the drivers to drive safely.
The TNSTC official team was led by Raja, branch manager.
The staff of the Sankagiri depot of the TNSTC, led by Chinnusamy, divisional manager of the Sankagiri branch and Chandrasekar, branch manager, organised a similar campaign at the toll plaza on the Salem – Erode highway, and near new bus stand etc.
