Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (Madurai) will operate special buses for the convenience of pilgrims visiting Sabarimala for Mandala Pooja and Makara Vilakku festivals.
According to a press release from T. Veerapandian, Managing Director, the Dindigul unit of the TNSTC (Madurai) will operate special buses from Dindigul, Palani, Tiruchi, Madurai and Theni to Kumuli between December 15 and January 16.Connecting services to Sabarimala will be operated from Kumuli by Kerala State Transport Corporation.
About 100 buses will be pressed into service during Mandala Puja, which falls on December 27, and more buses will be operated for Magara Vilakku on January 15. Officials will be posted at Kumuli, Dindigul, Palani, Tiruchi and Madurai bus stands to guide the Sabarimala pilgrims. Reservation facility has also been created at Kumuli for the benefit of pilgrims.
