The official said buses have improved interior and exterior fittings, emergency exit and are aesthetically painted. They have Bharat Stage IV compliant engines to ensure low emission.
Extra cushion
Unlike the old buses, the new ones have 52 seats with extra cushion and back rest. The old ones have 55 to 57 seats. Fewer seats in the new vehicles provide for extra leg space to make long distance travel more convenient. The luggage space of the new buses has been shifted below the floor.
The new buses will be run on moffusil routes initially. The vehicles will hit the road soon after the announcement by the government, the official said.
