The finances of Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) are in bad shape, and the corporation is struggling to find money to disburse salaries for the month of November.
All transport unions has decided to go on an indefinite strike from December 22 in protest against the delay in disbursing salary and pension in the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation.
There was a State-level dharna organised by the TDF in front of the Pappanamcode depot in the capital as part of observing Black Day on Thursday against the management’s delay in disbursing salary to those on the rolls and pension and the government’s lethargy in intervening in the issue.
In all the 102 KSRTC depots, all unions organised dharna and activists reported for duty wearing black badges.
Previously, the KSRTC also mortgaged around 63 depots to find money for disbursing pension and salaries of employees and was trying to find alternate sources of funding this month.
