Two officials of the Neyyatinkara Sub Regional Transport Office were injured allegedly in an attack by a group of 12 people, suspected to be sent by parallel service operators, at Amaravila on Tuesday evening.
The same issue happened in Vembayam also.

The RTO had last week launched a drive against parallel services, which have been eating into KSRTC’s revenues.
The group waylaid the inspectors and attacked and abused them. Motor Vehicle Inspector Sankara Pillai and Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector Feroze sustained minor injuries.
RTO officials said there were such attacks on them before.
