The vigilance and anti-corruption wing raided KSRTC Kayamkulam depot and seized Rs 2.5 Lakhs. The amount found in the bag which owned by Cash Superintendent Mrs Sheeba Das. She told that the seized amount was borrowed from KSRTC Sangham as a loan. But she could not produce any evidence regarding this.
The seized notes were the banned currencies of Rs 500 and 1000. Vigilance team said that the captured amount would be deposited in the treasury and she can withdraw the cash by producing any documents.
“There will be more raids in the coming days,” said a senior anti-corruption wing official.
