What routes are still flown by 747 aircraft?
As of August 2018, there are 22 airlines operating the 747 for passenger flights. 3 airlines operate the 747-8i : Lufthansa, Korean Air and Air China. All other passenger 747 operators use either the 747-400, except Mahan Air, which uses a the classic 747-300 version.
I will not include cargo routes flown by freighter airlines (ASL Airlines Belgium, Cargolux etc…)
1.Air China
Air China does not set fixed routes for these 747–4s operating domestic routes; instead, they are used when there is an extremely high passenger demand or as a replacement aircraft. For example, CA1315 (PEK-CAN) is operated by the Airbus A330–300, Boeing 777–300ER, and the occasional Boeing 747–4.
The only definite routes for the 747–4 are:
CA1321 – Beijing (PEK) – Guangzhou (CAN)
CA1313 – Beijing (PEK) – Shenzhen (SZX); occasionally operated by the Boeing 777–300ER
