What’s the most number of Cars a person has ever owned?

What if you had all the money in the world? How many cars would you buy, where would you keep them, and how would you ensure each gets its own turn to be driven by you every year? Well, this is exactly the life of the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah or if you like, Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibn Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam – those are his actual names.

Brunei is a relatively small country in South-East Asia. But, thanks to big amounts of oil and natural gas found there, the nation of Brunei is the fifth richest in the world, with almost no public debt and the richest monarch in the world.

The 71-year-old is filthy rich, and he is ballin’ like nobody’s business. He is the 29th and current Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei, besides being the first and incumbent Prime Minister of the same. He’s been ranked among the richest individuals worldwide, and obviously made Forbes’ lists, who estimated his total net worth at a whopping USD 20 billion in 2008 alone, making him the wealthiest monarch in the world.

In fact, he comes only second to Queen Elizabeth II, as the world’s second longest reigning and current monarch. Aside from that, and his massive wealth, which we cannot even describe here, he has a huge car collection of more than 7,000 cars – rare ones, supercars, very expensive ones, and some you probably didn’t know exist.

Here’s a breakdown of their most bought cars:

Rolls Royce – 604 cars
Mercedes-Benz – 574 cars
Ferrari – 452 cars
Bentley – 382  cars
BMW – 209  cars
Jaguar – 179 cars
Koenigsegg – 134 cars
Lamborghini – 21 cars
Aston Martin – 11 cars

It takes around an hour to 1.5 hours for many of these cars to be brought out, since the garage has the size of five aircraft hangars or ten football fields.

Although there are a couple of competitors for the spot of the holder of the largest car collection in the world, there is no doubt about who has the most expensive car collection in the world. With mostly luxurious and rare models, Hassanal Bolkiah is a definite winner in this department.
