Mavelikkara: A youth has been taken into police custody for trying to steal a state-run bus.
Sachu, from Karackad, was detained after he tried to drive away a KSRTC bus that had been parked on the roadside in front of the Mavelikkara bus station. The incident took place around midnight the other day.
The 25-year-old youth was spotted on the driver’s seat of the ‘Venad’ bus by Rajeev, a KSRTC employee who was alerted by the sound of the vehicle. Rajeev, in turn, called out to his colleagues who foiled the youth’s plan.
Sachu was handed over to the police by the KSRTC staff.
